Slacker...

Well, it seems life has turned me into a creative slacker these days! All I've "created" lately is a growing bundle of joy (and and even bigger belly!). We found out that we are having a boy, so we're naming him Jonas Andrew. We can't wait to meet him. I did do a couple of scrapbook pages about the pregnancy, and still have several to do. I'll try to post those later. A group of ladies at work have been getting together about once a month to make cards, so I've gotten about 18 of my Christmas cards done. A few more of those left too. I figured I'd rather not do a photo card with "Big Mama" on the front, so....lol. Maybe next year. Mom and I will be going to a scrapbook retreat in January and hopefully I can catch up with everything before the little babe arrives. My plan is to "catch up" current pages, start and finish our wedding album, and do some premade Jonas pages for when I'm too busy being a new mama to do any scrapbooking, I can just paste the pictures! :) I guess that is all for now, I hope whoever you are reading this had a blessed Thanksgivng!

We're Expecting!

Right now, we think we are 6 weeks along and all is going great (besides morning sickness). We are praying for a healthy baby and safe pregnancy! :)

Another Card

Easy card made with cardstock, ribbon, and some "Me and My Big Ideas" Cutouts that were in a pack of 10 for $2.50. It doesn't get much simpler, but it turned out very nicely I think! :)

It's Ice to Be With Friends Card

These two cards were created with the same House Mouse stamp. I am in LOVE with House Mouse stamps right now! :) I used felt flowers, stickles, and the mineral spirits blending techniue with prisma color pencils to color the stamp. :) Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy these two versions.
The inside of this one turned out to be a tad more detailed with the ricrac and corner stamps. : )
This one has added "Skittles and a heart shaped paper clip from Walmart's office section...

Graduation Card Boxes

I made these for the graduating seniors at church. They were used for a special service then the grads took them home and hopefully used them at their own parties. They were a huge hit. They held cards. Then afterwards, the front pics can be removed and put in a scrapbook! :)

I won!

I won a RAK (random act of Kindness) last night from Ted on the messageboard. The first to guess the correct answer to five of his questions won a $10 gift card to Michaels...and I did! My first ever RAK win! Yippee!

Happy Friday!

Well it is finally the weekend...well, for me that will happen in about 6 more hours! I am so excited to have a little break! (Even though I have a church event tonight and a carnival tomorrow...) Just glad to get away from school for a while! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Hopefully I'll make something new and have something to share. The only thing crafty I did last night was clean up my big mess! LOL!

Shaker Box Card

Inspired by the Cricut Messageboard...

1. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the acrylic, which is really just trash. It is the packaging the cuttlebug folder comes in. :) Kind of ironic what used to hold the folder now got embossed by it! :)

2. Skittles (really, Decorative Accents from M's) filled inside this shaker box card...the blue, clear and yellow acrylic "skittles" shake around. I used foam strips along a frame to make this shaker. I really think it turned out great for my first try. I added ribbon from M's for something extra.

3. The cardstock is printed with stars, plain orange/yellow when you open it. I stamped "Thinking of you" and two flourishes in brown. I would have used teal if I had it... maybe one day. :)

Thanks for looking! :)

Secretary's Day

Well, just found out that Secretary's Day is tomorrow, so hopefully I'll have time to come up with something nice for Stasha and Suzanne tonight. Also need to finish a baby shower album for Heather who's shower is Saturday. And Jon has a softball game and I have a faculty meeting...I cannot wait until Summer! I need a vacation with my hubby!!!!! :) But I am looking forward to making these things tonight. I also need to finish Jonathan's ordination pages that I started Sunday night. They are looking good, just need journaling and headlines. I could use some more paper for them too...hint hint mom, I need some paper from Hobby Lobby!!! :) LOL!

Published!

Well, this isn't scrapbook related, but I am being published! Don't know in what issue yet, but I am promised a copy of each before my ideas are printed! I submitted a few teaching ideas to "Mailbox Magazine" a great teacher resource magazine. Well, I have gotten two letters already saying they are publishing my ideas! The best part is that each one comes with a $20 gift certificate to their site, so I'll be getting some new teaching books free! :) I submitted a few more today! I figure what have I got to lose! :) Pretty exciting to see your name in a periodical! :)

I actually did some projects!

Here is a frog card that I completed last week. This was my first attempt using prismas and odorless mineral spirits. It has a "chalking" effect, like when I use soft pastels for visuals. The OMS kind of erases the pencil strokes. Hopefully those odorless vapors won't be too toxic. :)
Sorry I haven't mastered the whole taking pics of my project thing. I think I need a new surface. The picture doesn't do the colors justice. The greens are very happy! :) I like 3-D embellies too...and ribbon. I used my new Cuttlebug machine to emboss the green mat.

This is my fav of the night...I finally got a house mouse stamp. I've been admiring them on the Cricut messageboard on others' cards. I used the "Magic Pencil Coloring" Technique as described above. OTHER NEW THINGS about this card are the distressed edges on the yellow embossed paper (yes, I did that with Cuttlebug) that I used my new edge distresser on, the Yellow flowers are new, the stamp of course is new, my most recent aquisition is the yellow "bling" in the center of the flower. They have come to be known as "skittles" on my mb since "SillySkittles" (a member) introduced us to them. They are perfectly adorable, flat on one side, round on the other. AND they are cheap, $2 for a whole bag (hundreds!). Of course I now own every color. :) LOL! Hope you like the cards! Haven't decided who they are for or what sentiment to put on them. I will put something cheesy on the yellow one, like "You're Un-bee-lieveable" or "Bee-utiful Friendships"...LOL!

New Addiction

So in addition to the current addictions that I do claim:

1. CHOCOLATE
2. Jonathan's attention
3. Checking my email
4. Watching Jon & Kate Plus 8
5. Shopping for new scrapbook supplies

I can add a NEW one in the number 6 slot.

I am admitting that I am ADDICTED to the Cricut Messageboard. Oh my oh my. The ladies and gents on there have inspired me to do many new crafty things. They have enabled me to buy many new products, but most of all, they keep me coming back for more. I check it as much as my email. At least I'm making new friends right?

I just need to get off the messageboard and create something to contribute! :) LOL!

Jonathan and Garrett went to a Switchfoot Concert

Sushi Slurpie

Spaghetti Girls! :)

Emily and Megan Morris...

PBC Softball

He chose #8 because we got married on the 8th of July! How romantic is HE??? :)

The Gig

Layout for Jonathan and Brad's gig at Fort Gordon...
Here's the first layout post on my blog! Yeah! I love the colors! This is of a night spent playing pool at our neighbor Brad's. Jonathan, Addie and I are in the pictures! Hope you like it!

Stamps

I bought a huge grab bag of stamps from an online store that was closing. They were unmounted, so I mounted them with Ailene's Tack it over and over and store them in cd cases. This takes up less space than all that wood and keeps them organized. I just peel it out of the cd case and stick it to an acrylic block to stamp. Works great! :) This picture is the mess that I made (and these are not even all the stamps!).

Card for Emily

For Emily Prosser's Bridal Shower...Hope you like!

First post...

Welcome to my new blog! I thought this would be a neat way to share my creations with whomever cares to look and archive them for later. I hope you enjoy looking at my layouts, cards, and other crafts, and most importantly, I hope you get inspired.

Have a great day!

Happy Crafting!
